Sometimes photos can't show it all. This is especially true if the photos come from a point-and-shoot-the-phone-camera technique like mine are. I don't have the skills, quick reflexes, or technology to fully tell the story with images. My writing skills are similarly limited.
So here I'll just spill it out on the table. You interpret however you wish. Think of it like some sort of clever puzzle...or maybe just a jumbled mess.
grasslands loop
foggy start
hide and seek with the sun
rain all yesterday sloppiness
mostly pavement
but not entirely
water splashes
mud splatters
leaves falling
the sun stopped playing
burned the fog away
made me sweat
and befriend the breeze
a coyote
roadrunner
turkeys
bison
a zebra
yes, a living grazing
zebra
and a chimney
wishing for a home
a good day for coffee
as always
and just the right spot
to unload it all
and sit still
so fueled for climbing
didn't even stop
when I reached the top
no view for you
but dodging wet leaves
made the corner at speed
at the bottom
an outing
better than
my ability to share it
but if you were here
you would know
but let's make one thing
abundantly clear
there really was
a zebra
and somehow
there is a photo
