Finally, after about 10 days off the bike, pedaling resumed. As the days passed, I felt increasingly old, stiff, and sluggish. In my world, ice is as confining as a coffin, and I had a correspondingly dark mood.
But today, the sun shone and most of the ice receded. It took a few crank revolutions for the rhythm to return. But when it did, there was a fresh newness about it, an exclamatory reminder of cycling joy.
Speaking of newness, modifications to the beloved Ponderosa are in the works. Since there are no more below freezing temperatures in the forecast, I should be able to elaborate on the changes soon.
