I took the Chumba hardtail MTB out today. I rode MTB trails. But there where no mountains, and I'm not really a mountain biker.
It was fun to pedal the Chumba again after riding nothing but the Meriwether since it arrived in late July. Wow, four and a half months.
Otherwise, it was a typical ride. Just cruising the easiest trails, enjoying the ideal weather, and admiring the beauty of Fall.
Being reacquainted with flat bars and front suspension was interesting. But not feeling like I had been missing something was even more so.
When I think about how few miles I rode, and amount of coffee stop time versus pedaling time, I'm not even sure I can call myself any kind of cyclist.
But I am a schemer, and when I pedal the Meriwether into the grasslands this afternoon, you can at least call me a camper.
